Reiki for Children

My own Discovery of Reiki

I had never heard of Reiki, until I met a woman who inspired me. Over numerous conversations she talked with me about this hands-on Healing modality so powerful that it could cure illness, inspire creativity, and empower healing on multiple levels. I was surprised and intrigued to hear that anyone could do Reiki, even me… so she let me know about an upcoming class.

Reiki Classes for Children

I registered for my class at the Usui Reiki Centre for Natural Healing… met my teacher Denise Crundall, and never turned back… I had found my path, found myself all over again, reignited something within me I thought I had lost and began the journey of a lifetime. Years later I would combine my passion for healing with my love of Children and began supporting Children’s Reiki Classes. To participate as a volunteer in one of Sue Hill’s classes was a privilege indeed. I watched in awe as Child after Child shared stories of healing, drew pictures that revealed the most sacred of themselves, and magically transformed before my eyes. Each child who came in touch with this Reiki energy would utilise it in their own unique way. Some would create miracles in their lives, like dropping their lifelong asthma, receive gifts such as a surfboard, or a pony from seemingly nowhere, get an audition in a local play, learn to do math… I recall one older child, during the first day of her Reiki class, talking about missing her estranged older brother whom she hadn’t heard from in over a year. She then reported the next day she had received a call from him that evening, and they were able to reconnect once more. Her dream was answered, her healing complete. She was ecstatic!

A Hands-on Healing Modality for Life

During a class, Children will learn how to Reiki themselves, Reiki another and become attuned to the Universal Life-Love Energy of Reiki.

How Children can use Reiki

Once attuned to the frequency of Reiki participants will have a tool for life and they can draw on it whenever they need. Children will apply Reiki in numerous ways and circumstances in their lives including;

• helping a friend in the playground who has hurt themselves

• relieving their own anxiety, stress, pain, fear or overwhelm

• putting hands on a relative or pet who is sick or dying

• helping them find an answer to a question they have

• helping them with homework or to learn a new skill

• empowering their dreaming, wishes and desires

• connecting with someone they miss

• empowering their meditation

• helping them sleep at night

• empowering them to make decisions

• giving them the courage to speak from their heart

Subtle, yet Powerful Healing

One tiny 6-year-old girl in a rowdy class of older boys, spoke with Sue about how she was feeling distressed by their boisterous play. With the support of Sue, and her own Reiki hand on her heart she stood up in front of the class and told the boys how she was feeling. The room quietened down, the boys toned down their noise and, whilst still having fun, harmony was restored to the room. The boys had heard her truth and responded accordingly.
